Since 1964, the Columbia Basin Development League (CBDL) has supported the Federal Reclamation Columbia Basin Project.  While the initial focus was on continued incremental development of the Project, today the focus is on preventing economic and environmental disaster by replacing groundwater withdrawals from the Odessa Aquifer with Project water supplies.  Bringing surface water to this area requires a strict following of complex rules and guidelines for development in a Federal Reclamation Project.

The League has and will continue to play a strong role in facilitating planning, discussion, and action among stakeholders.  Those stakeholders include not only Federal and State agencies, but also farmers, businesses, civic and economic groups and individuals interested in the Project.

The League is working with a film company to create a short documentary that shines a light on the story of the Project, leveraging the power of motion picture to connect to the hearts and minds of viewers, make the CBP a priority and encouraging the support necessary to mitigate risk.

Help us make history! Your contribution to the film will help us address current challenges  and secure the future of those who live, work, and recreate within the Project. More information available here.
